looking ahead into fall with AnneArchy

It was great to see everyone who came out to the Market for the Arts in late August! My market went really well, despite the typical weather challenges (it seems it must always be at least 2 out of 3 for rain, gusting winds, and bonkers heat). And there are always folks I don't see very often with whom I get to chat at my booth, which is always a highlight of this event! And I got to chat with a few elected officials and hopefuls, who kindly listened to my thoughts on a few key issues. Love to see that! This year the MFTA was combined with the city's semiquincentennial celebrations which made for a lovely, busy weekend. I hope the city continues to collaborate on this event in the future!

One of the biggest successes this year was that I now have magnets! I invested in a magnet press earlier this year (after years of requests from customers - the initial monetary investment is steep for a little business like mine so it took a while before I was ready to commit) and they were a huge hit! Pin back buttons and art prints also did well, in addition to paper goods, stickers, and bookmarks doing just fine. I heard from a lot of folks that they were excited to put up the magnets at home and the art prints in their cubicle or office at work (all can be enjoyed in whatever space works for you, of course!).

So, on to the drawings that most resonated with people! Once again this year, the FAFO chipmunk ruled the day:

Next up was a drawing I made of my pal Kristin's cute cat Bug, who (like all of us) persists despite the horrors:

And the third most popular was this cute opossum who came right out of my imagination:

I was really heartened at how many people also enjoyed my works that have a message of resistance and hope for the future:
